1) Happy Birthday, Jesus Song
>I am looking for a tape with the Christmas song, "Happy Birthday, Jesus."
>The words are something like... "Happy Birthday, Jesus. I'm so glad it's
Christmas.
To Wanda, From Rosemarie Kuster - rkuster@cotconline.org
Please reply
I too am looking for the song, a CD preferably and words. I easily found
the words on the web with a search for "happy Birthday, Jesus. I'm so
glad it's Christmas', and Word,Inc came up. It gave this info
www.michael-thomas.com/music/
It provided the words and chords for the music. I am so excited and hope
it helps you also.
Blessings,
Rosemarie

2) Children's Sabbath?
My pastor gave me a book this morning on the National Observance of
Children's Sabbath. While I realize that we have missed the "national
observance", I would love to plan for our own. We have a very small church
with very few children, so I was hoping that someone out there might be
able to share some ideas on how they observed this special day.
Blessings....

4) Thanksgiving ideas
To Linda in Ohio: Thanks for posting the Thanksgiving lesson ideas.. I
would be very interested in the craft ideas etc. that you have that go
with the lesson ideas you posted. I will be teaching childrens church in
November, and these lessons on Thankfulness sound great. Could you please

5) Chrismon Banners
Last year, we had an Advent evening at church and the kids used craft foam
to cut out chrismons. We used the sticky-backed foam and then attached
the chrismon shapes to small red fabric banners that we then hung from
torches attached to the church pews for Christmas. They look beautiful
and I am planning to make white banners for the Easter season. Maybe we
can make gold chrismons or Easter symbols to stick on the white banners. I
enjoy seeing your great ideas on this website.
Janelle Sumter, South Carolina
--from SSTN: Great idea! Thanks for sharing it, Janelle. For anyone else
interested, you may find Chrismon patterns for use on banners in my

7) Christmas songs for toddlers
Two great songs we've used in the past are "Happy Birthday Jesus" from
"Christmas at the Brooklyn Tabernacle" and "My Gift is Me" from the
"Countdown to Christmas" musical. When we did "My Gift is Me" we had very
large bows (pagent style) for each toddler to wear. They were adorable and
it was very moving as well. "Happy Birthday Jesus" starts with children
then expands to include the choir, but we used a simplified version for
just our toddlers.
Happy Holidays!

8) Wildlife craft Ideas
My children received a book last Christmas that they absolutely love!
It's
called "Fun with Nature" Take-Along Guide. It is printed by Northwood
Press. There are at least two books in this category. Not only some good
info about nature and many of God's creatures but also has some fun neat
ideas for crafts to use to outside for those creatures. We loved making
the chipmunk tightrope while camping this past summer! Hope this gives you
some ideas!
