I am interested in starting a type of club at our Church for our teens. I would like to have it so they can earn badges,(mission work, team work, etc., etc.). Anybody doing this type of work? Any help would be greatly appreciated. In Christ, Sherry
--from SSTN: yes, there is a wonderful club which has been started by Emmalea Butler, one of our fellow-members. You can read more about her club at:
Hello, I am thinkging about having a "Water Theme" for VBS this summer and would be interested in some good ideas that you have used that were exciting and successfuld with this type of theme for children. What type of props did you use for setting up in the sanctuary? What songs? What motivations? What games (outside or inside), and snacks that went with the theme? What crafts?
Thank you for all your suggestions and help with this "water" theme. Jeanne in Ohio

In response to Florence. I teach a Sunday School class of kindergarten to 3rd graders. We play a game on the blackboard of our classroom that the kids love. I write down words or scenes from that day's lesson on index cards. Each child picks a card and draws what is on it until the other children guess correctly. (no words allowed!)
I have played a variation of this game with older children (grades 6-8), where I write down the Bible verses on cards. They have to "draw" the verse so the other children can guess it. Again, I use topics/verses that we have recently covered in lessons.
If you do not have a blackboard in your classroom, you could use newsprint. I like the idea to draw heaven. I will use it soon.
The Bible-4-Life series of lessons are for ages K-5th grade and may be used within a traditional class environment or within a rotation-type program. Each series is accompanied with a craft, game, Scripture memorization and
song-time suggestions. Most include hands-on enrichment ideas to further enhance your program. They're great for midweek classes too! And to help your budget, one book is all you need for an entire class!
To those who have used Son Harvest in the past two years, I need your help. I wrote skits for each day for one person and Henrietta. I have the skits for Monday and Tuesday and have lost the rest. If I sent you these in the past, and you still have copies, would you please send me Wednesday thru Friday? I am sending the kit on to a fellow church and would like to include them. Thanks to all for your wonderful ideas and sharing them. Thank you Sarah for being such a wonderful servant to the Lord!!
