1) Unique fundraising ideas
We raised funds this year for a mission trip by having same coloured
t-shirts printed and then asking people to sponsor us towards the trip.
All
the sponsors got to sign the back of the t-shirt! Another idea that we did
with our junior youth was a carnival. We bought inexpensive prizes and had
food donated and had a fun family evening where everyone played some games
and ate boerewors rolls (that's like a sausage roll!). Another idea is a
'slave rave'. This works depending on the children's ages. People in the
church hire the kids to do their housework/ wash the car/ work in the
garden/ etc one Saturday afternoon and they get paid for it! It's also a
great way for proplr in the church to get to know the young people! One
other idea is to kidnap the pastor!!!! This was really fun! We had the
pastor in the office with a mic and he was begging for mercy from the
kidnappers! The church had to pay ransom to get him back to preach that
service so an offering was taken up!!!! This was a good laugh! I hope this
helps a bit :-) Tracy Bentley (South Africa)

2) Fundraising ideas
It seems we do so much fund raising for our youth. We also have a small
group (about 25 youth grades 6-12). Our best fund raiser by far is a
spaghetti lunch following a Sunday am service. The youth parents usually
divide up the work load as far as the pasta, sauce, salad, dressing, tea,
and deserts. The kids have to get the Fellowship Hall ready and they do
the serving and go around refilling tea and giving deserts and such. We
charge $5 per plate. The parents donate for the 1st fund raiser
everything and after we have some $'s in the fund then the fund will
provide the hamburger meat which is the biggest expense and the parents
donate the rest. We also have car wash, have done the Krispy Kreme
Doughnut sale, Slave day, but the best for us seems to be the dinners. We
don't always do Spaghetti, sometimes we have someone cater a chicken-que
or bar-b-que plates which is what our next fund raiser is in a few weeks.
Hope this helps. Virginia

3) JOY when Jesus Overtakes You!
This coming Sunday my Sunday school class (Primary) is responsible for
this week's devotional during Assembly which is held for 15 minutes before
Sunday school starts. We are going to talk about JOY. I researched the
Bible and joy was found in 201 scriptures and sadness was found in only 1
scripture. I thought "OK, Lord, you want your children to be happy."
Then it dawned on me that you get JOY when Jesus Overtakes You! Don't ya
just luv Jesus!

5) Unique Fundraising Idea
How about doing a Valentine Sweetheart Candelight dinner? This year our
youth group is doing this - we are using the youth pastors home which is
decorated in a Victorian style. We have space for about 10 couples and
will be doing two shifts. The youth kids are the servers and there is
little cost put out as the moms are donating the food for the dinner
Lasagna, salad, vegetable, bread, coffee, tea, cheesecake. The dinner
costs $15 for a couple and $8 for a single. We are encouraging married
couples to sponser the singles. The tables will be decorated with lit
candles (all the holders will be borrowed from moms), greenery, and tulle.
We are having a class to teach the kids how to really serve a table and
we will also have them assist in the kitchen. We should make around $300
if we fill both shifts - which should be easy to fill as we plenty of
interested parties already.

6) Good fund raiser
For the lady you was looking for a good fund raiser, our youth group make
a cookbook. Members of the church give the youth recipes and we publish
them in a cookbook. The books were inexpensive to make and for us to buy
from the youth. So they did make good money.

7) Fund Raising Ideas
Our youth is also planning a mission trip to Jamaica to teach Bible
School, these are some of our fundraising ideas. We are baking bread early
Sunday morning and selling after Church/Sunday School, a flock of
flamingoes you pay to get rid of,and send to other Church member, Red
Wheel frozen food, slave (youth) auction and a raffle at Wal-Mart. Hope
some of these help.

8) Unique fundraising idea
Hi, Our Sunday school kids are currently having a Penny Drive to raise
money for a service project. So far we have raised about $100/week in
change! Kimberly Eberhardt - Middle Collegiate Church, NYC

9) Unique fundraising idea
Our youth group last year needed to raise funds for a mission trip to
Virginia. They decided to have a "Slave Auction". Each youth submitted a
"job" they were willing to do such as babysitting, racking leaves,
shoveling snow, house cleaning, and even just so many hours of labor. Each
prospevtive "slave" was autioned off at a potluck supper and the attendees
were the bidders. The kids raised over $500.00 and had a riot doing the
work later as it was cashed in. The folks at our church love these
auctions and feel good knowing that the kids are earning their way instead
of the church just paying it. Hve fun and good luck. Tabetha
