1) Pastor's Appreciation Day?

I need something for Pastor's Appreciation Day.
Can anyone help with any ideas?

<>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <><

3) Pastor's Appreciation Week?

First of all I would like to say how much I enjoy this site. I have
used many of the suggestions from you and your readers. I used my own
version of the resurrection eggs at our Easter lunch and egg hunt. The
little ones were adorable as they opened each one of the eggs & the
members really enjoyed it. It was nice to let everyone know that we did
remember the real meaning of Easter & not just the fun of the egg hunt.
One little boy, whose egg had thorns in it & who ignored the request to
wait to open his egg, wanted to know why he got splinters in his Easter
egg.

I am wondering if there is anyone that may be able to help me with
something for my children's church class to do for our pastor &/or his
family during our pastor appreciation week coming up soon. I teach ages
7-12 and a few that are 13. We may also combine the younger ones from
another class with these for some type of program or presentation. I
believe our theme has something to do with heritage. This one has stumped
me. I would appreciate any ideas on the matter. Thanks so much for all
that you do in the name of our Lord. Keep up the good
work.---Andrea---Chester Church of God---Chester, Georgia

4) Clean Blood

> It is a story about a disease that spreads all over the world

The story is called Clean Blood. You can find it through any search engine
by typing in Clean Blood. (I used dogpile) It's rather a long story so I
did not send it along.

Sarah, I really enjoy this site. It has been very helpful to our church in
our children's ministries. Thank you and Thank the Lord for the workers in
the field! Joy Griggs-Director, Children's Ministries Toledo, Ohio

--FYI from SSTN: Thank you, Joy for your encouraging words, and to
EVERYONE else that sent the story. I received multiple submissions on
this, so to conserve space, you can find it at this URL:

5) Bee craft

Here is an idea for a bee craft for the younger kids: For the head/face:
cut a circle from construction paper large enough to fit over a t.p. roll,
decorate with markers and/or wiggle eyes. Use an empty toilet paper roll
and color or cover with paper to decorate for the bee's body. Attach pipe
cleaners for antennae {to give a neat appearance, make a pattern for the
head larger than the opening of the t.p. roll with "V" cuts so it can glue
to the outside of the roll, THEN cover the body with paper so it will
cover the excess from the head} For wings: you can use white paper,
tissue paper, or tulle (netting stuff). You can glue on wings, or use
black pipe cleaners to wrap around the body and use the ends on the
underside as legs. This could have a string attached so it could be hung.

--from SSTN: Got pictures? If so, I'll post it in the site. ;o)) ~ Sarah

6) Snow globe ideas

Kit and Sarah--I seem to remember a neighbor making these with her Girl
Scout Troop years ago. She mentioned that she filled them with baby oil
because then the glitter wouldn't clump up the way it would with water.
(I've never tested this--just thought I'd pass it on. Craft stores had
little figures--look for snowmen on clearance. Some had a loop on the top
as if it was meant to be a charm. Hope this helps a little :)

Thanks, Dana! We'll experiment!

7) Baptism and Sunday School involvement

Lynda asked about ideas for involving children in baptism. At our church
the preschool class comes in to watch the baptism and then they sing
"Jesus Loves Me" to the baby(ies). They use some American sign language
with the song as well.

8) Children's Ministry Curriculum

9) VBS Resources for Rescue for Jesus

Debbie, Have you checked into the books from Oriental trading, US Toys

10) Igloo from plastic gallon jugs?

We're looking for patterns or info on making the Polar Expeditions igloo
out of the plastic clear gallon milk jugs. Also looking forward to your
response on what to put into the baby food jar snow globes. Thanks. .

11) Snow Globes

We made snow globes as a Christmas craft last December. We used white
glitter to put in the water and glued (hot glue gun) small plastic animals
on the lid. The problem we had was that even though we were hot glueing
all around the inside of the lid AND the top of the jar the water was till
leaking out because the tops were not going on
evenly with the glue. Eventually, we started putting colored electrical
tape around the top of the jar after we glued the top on and that took
care
of the problem. Definitely try it a few times before you do it so you
know
what works. Hope this helps! For the kids and the Kingdom,
Stacey Kay-Director of Children's Ministry
Pacific Beach Presbyterian Church

--from SSTN: it just occurred to me that using plumbers tape around
the top of the jar might just do the trick!
