1) Building Nazareth-also-Where in Houston?
> I would like to have something Biblically (or at least historically) based around how >carpenter shops where in those days and some lesson around how Joseph taught >Jesus. I will appreciate any ideas and thoughts. Thanks. Appreciate any help.
S & S crafts has many woodworking projects in kit form, we have used them for church camp. If you know anyone who has done Marketplace 29 A.D., or any of the others from that company (BJGOETZ@marketplace29ad.com), they have ideas for a carpenters shop, etc.
Also, when and where is this happening? I live just outside Houston, teach at a Bible College in Houston and would love to see this.

2) Recruiting Help:
> How can I motivate people to come help me teach these precious
> children of God??
Hi Sharon:
You didn't mention if you had one Sunday School or two. (We have two) It is sad how few parents want to get involved. We ask our teachers to teach every Sunday until the end of May. We then give them the entire summer off so they will be refreshed for September. Start a Sr. High teacher training. They make wonderful aides and it is a great way to train a new teacher. In the springtime we have secret pal for each teacher for 4 weeks. (The secret pal leaves a small gift for the teacher for 4 weeks.) On the 4th Sunday they find out who their secret pal is. We then have a luncheon with teachers and their secret pals. Find out the children that have steady attendance. Their parents are a good source for teachers or even as a sub. If you can't find someone who will commit from Sept-May try for a quarter. God bless you. I know what a tough job you have. Been there.... done that!

3) Recruiting Help
At our church we work in teams of two. My husband and I teach 5th and 6th grade SS. BUT, we only teach every other month. This way we never get burned out and we can attend the adult SS class on the months we are off. Teaching is a huge commitment and this on one month and off the next, makes it easier to commit to. If we are sick, or on vacation, we have a substitute list to draw from as well. (The subs are asked to teach occasionally, some never get asked. But they're there in a pinch.)
Blessings!

4) Christmas play?
I thought I'd try something new this year and get an early start on our
Christmas planning instead of my usual procrastination till it's too late
approach! We are a very small church (approx. 50), I teach Children's Church
to a group of 5-8 kids ages 8-12. I would like to put on a Christmas play
but am having trouble finding a play that is suitable for only a few kids.
If anyone has a resource I'd appreciate the help!

5) Study of the Disciples?
CAN ANYONE HELP? I WOULD LIKE A STUDY OF THE DISCIPLES
FOR 7, 8 & 9 GRADES.
<>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <>< <><
6) Chrismon Snowflake-Lesson?
I would like to use the Chrismon Snowflake Ornament book for a Sunday School lesson relating to the Old Testament. Can anyone give me ideas on how to use the snowflakes and which old testament chapter/chapters I could relating them to? I will be using the lesson for 5th and 6th graders. I would like to use the lesson in January.
--From ChristianCrafters.Com, I love this question ;o)))))
You can see the book online, click on Chrismon Snowflake Ornaments from my home page. Thanks for asking! Sarah Keith ;o)

7) Construction VBS
We did this a couple of years ago...we were just starting up our children's church so my husband who has great patience set up a construction area and each age level after snack got some construction time ...he had them sawing and hammering and measuring etc. by the end of the week the kids had built the alter for our children's church boy were they proud...of course what they didn't know is the doards they were measuring and cutting weren't the real boards he had that already cut and then substituted the real boards for painting!!! -After VBS my brother was putting together a bookcase and my 5yo niece said daddy let me hammer My brother was like honey you don't know how she said yes I do Uncle Scott taught us at VBS!!!!

8) The nursery crowd
Two suggestions you might want to consider: We have teens age 14 and up
help in our nursery along with the adults.
Another idea would be to ask the parents of the babies currently in the
nursery to take a turn in the nursery once a month.
