JOURNEY TO THE PROMISED LAND
This game was submitted by Ellen Patterson, a Sunday
School Network subscriber. Ellen wrote in
to say, "The questions that I used were based on the curriculum my class has been studying. This covered Moses and the Exodus from Egypt, The
Israelites and The Ten Commandments, The 40 years of wondering---God giving the Israelites
manna and water, Rahab and the
Israelite spies, and The Walls of Jericho. Of course, this worked well
for a game based on a long journey!" Click the title for the
directions.

group scores one point. (Copyright 2001 Lucille Dass - The Holy Spirit

WHO WANTS TO BE A
CHRISTIANAIRE?
(For Team Play!) 'Christianaire' was sent in by, Carol Baldridge, another dedicated subscriber to
the Sunday School Teacher's Network! Carol writes, "To play this
game you will need a set of multiple choice Bible questions, a chalk board and a
writing instrument. To set up the score boards you set up two of the following:
Life lines - V (Verse of scripture), C (eliminate Choices), R (Response from
another) Strikes - 1, 2, 3 (each team gets a chance for three misses before
ending the game) Score - 1-15 (we usually draw triangles with numbers in them)
Now to play the game: Multiple choice Bible questions are asked to each team
alternating between teams. A team may choose a lifeline, or answer the question.
If they miss the questions they score a strike and the question passes to the
next team. If they answer correctly, they score one of 15 points and the game
continues with the other team answering the next question. The game continues in
this fashion until one team scores three strikes or fifteen points. Note:
Playing this game does not indicate that you are, or are not, a Christian. It is
just a fun game to help educate one with Bible facts." (Thanks for sharing,
Carol!)
Who Am I?
In order to play, "Who Am I?" you divide the class into teams or
allow each child to compete against one another. To begin, you describe a person
from the Old or New Testament. For example: "I baptized Jesus. Who am
I?" (John the Baptist-Matthew 3:13) Or, "I was anointed king by
Samuel. Who am I?" (King David-1 Samuel 16:13) This idea was sent in by Pat
Rogers, a regular contributor to the Sunday School Teacher's Network. Pat says,
"We played another version of this game whereby there were multiple clues
with variant points for each clue. 5 points for the first & hardest clue,
then downward from there."

the Bible", "Women or Men of the Bible", "Psalms 23"
(or any chapter that the kids have studied), "Beatitudes",
"Spiritual Gifts", "Books beginning with a certain letter of the
alphabet", etc. Give the players one minute to list as many items as they
can think of dealing with that category. After one minute, the kids take turns
reading their list. If two or more players have the same item, they must cross
it off. Players get one point for each item that remains on the list. (The
teacher is the judge - and makes the decision of what is allowed for a point.)
Do as many categories that you have time for and the one with the most points
wins. Another great game idea contributed by Deb High.

WHO WANTS TO BE A
BIBLEAIRE?
This game was sent in by Deb High, a very committed and creative 7th and 8th
grade Sunday school teacher. Deb writes, "Here is a game I made which is a
take off from the millionaire game. In the Sunday school classroom I had 10
levels. At the third level they won a can of pop. At the 6th level and 10th
level a MacDonald's gift certificate. Of course you could work out anything for
the game. I also used 'lifelines', the kids could poll the class, use a 50/50,
and call on a friend in class.
Deb is a regular contributor to the Bible games page and I think this is
probably not her final answer! Deb, Thanks again for your hard work! (Click
the title to get the Bibleaire questions.)
BIBLE TIC-TAC-TOE
For Two Players or
Two Teams. You will need a pack of Bible trivia questions to play this game. You
can write your own questions, or purchase them. If playing in a class, divide
class into two teams, "X's" and "O's". Draw a large Tic-Tac-Toe
grid on the chalk board and number the squares 1-9. Players/teams take turns
answering the Bible trivia questions called out by the teacher. Players may
confer with their teammates to give an answer. If a correct answer is given,
that player or team scores an "X" or "O" in one of the
numbered positions of their own choosing on the grid. If a player/team is unable
to answer a question, the opposing team may have an opportunity to answer it and
score an "X" or "O". If no one is able to answer the
question, the grid space remains blank and play continues as before. First
player or team to get three in a row wins!
