Theme: Redemption

Scripture: Ephesians 1:7
"In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God's
grace."
Recently, I was listening to kids memorize and recite scripture. Several were having a hard time with a verse and I realized why. The verse had the word “redemption” in it. It’s pretty hard to remember stuff when you don’t know what it means. So today, you older kids are going to help me explain it to the younger ones. When we talk about redemption in church it always has to do with Jesus and what He did for us. So when I looked up the word “redeem” in the dictionary, it was easy to see how the definitions can help us understand that. There were 4 main definitions:
- to buy
- to pay off
- to get back
- to exchange
