A Sunbeam For Jesus

Preschool Craft for Ages 2-5.

Focus: Showing Jesus' Love

Learn the song, I'll Be A Sunbeam.
(Before class decide on a few simple hand and body motions to coordinate with the song.)

Scripture Focus: Matthew 5:16 "Let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven."

What You Need: a T-shirt or other item to decorate (line inside of shirt with cardboard or newspaper), acrylic paint (yellow and red-orange), permanent black marker, sponges, paper plates, wiggle eyes, black felt cut into 1-1/2 " x 1/2" strips then slit at intervals on one side to make eye lashes (see picture), tacky glue and napkins for cleanup.

What You Do: Cut out the center of a paper plate to make a hole approximately 5" in diameter. Center plate over area to be painted. Sponge paint red-orange paint through the hole to paint the sun. Press child's hand into yellow paint, and then press around sun to make the beams. Glue on wiggle eyes and eye lashes. When paint is dry, draw a nose and smile with the permanent marker and write child's name on shirt.
