1) Samaritan's Call Children's Devotion

Theme: Love your neighbor
Object: Cell Phone (Have someone call you at the appropriate time.)

Scripture: Galatians 5:14
"The entire law is summed up in a single command: "Love your neighbor as yourself."

(RING, RING)

Is that my cell phone? That's strange. Everybody that knows me knows not to call while I'm at church.

(RING, RING)

I guess it could be an emergency. Let me see who is calling. It's a 777 number. I'd better get it.

(Answer Phone)

Hello. Why am I at church? Who is this! ... God? ...

2) Pencil & Eraser Devotion

I bought a brand new box of pencils this week. Something funny happened when I took them out of the box. The pencils reminded me of you! You want to know why?

First they were brand new. I look at you and realize it wasn’t too long ago that God created you – brand new. You are growing fast – and have learned so much, but to me – you are still pretty new!
I have some other pencils here too. What is different about these pencils? They are colored pencils. The colored pencils reminded me of you too --- because your personalities are so colorful. Each of you is different. Because you are different I can tell you apart from each other.

Do you see what is inside the pencils? Yes. It is lead or the color stuff that makes the pencil work. What is inside leaves a mark on paper, doesn’t it? What is INSIDE is the most important part.

Guess what. That lead inside the pencil?...it reminds me of you too! Because …

In return, we'll post any contact information you would like displayed, e.g. website, church name, etc.

4) Tell Gospel Story with Totem Poles

"But as for me...I will tell of all your deeds." Psalm 73:28,
"I will tell of the kindnesses of the LORD, the deeds for which he is to be praised..." Isaiah 63:7

Did you know that totem poles are used to pass along history from generation to generation. They visually record personal or family stories, they could be used to honor an individual or even to mark a grave site. Totem poles are not used as idols or for worship.

Make a totem pole to:
1) Record a personal testimony "a day in your life with Jesus,"
2) Tell a Bible story,
3) Draw a Bible Memory Verse.

You'll need: colored pencils, paper, scissors, glue stick and an empty cardboard paper towel roll to make your totem pole.

5) Joseph the Dreamer - skit?

Hi, does anyone have a skit for Joseph the Dreamer? Our Children's Ministry in the Church of God, Philippines is planning to do a musical play in a couple of months and we need all the support we can get to materialize this project. If you have any ideas, please email me at pdposial@yahoo.com.

Thanks and God bless,
Pam

6) Structuring a Nursery?

Our church has had a nursery for years but we've never had a structured nursery program. Do you have a place on your site where I can check out how to begin structuring the program and also curriculum/activities to do with children 0-3yrs of age? Thank you.

God's joy,
Jackie

--from SSTN: you might find information from past articles. Scroll down to the search box and type in "nursery programs", but hopefully your posting today will generate the help you need! As to curriculum/activities, I strongly suggest the Pray & Play books (vol. 1 and 2). You'll find them on the home page of our affiliate bookstore: http://www.sundayschoolnetwork.com/bookstore.html
